New Job

Once again, I'll be starting a new job. I'm still with the US Antarctic Program, but I'll be working for Information Security now. It's a good step up, and will still involve a hefty amount of technical writing. I was very happy with my old job, but it was contract, and bound to end in the next year or so.

On the Ice, people are getting ready for station close--when the last flights leave a few people at each station (not counting Palmer Station and the research vessels), and darkness starts setting in over the continent for the winter. People who winter over are anxious to get the ball rolling, so to speak, and get the summer folk out of there. I miss the Ice, but I don't miss the loneliness.

I guess I'll always be caught between summer and winter in springtime, feeling like I could go either way on any given day.
