Parenting--Whew!
While I knew about the early morning/late night feedings, no one told me about the reflux, the fussiness (especially between 11 and 4 a.m.), or the gassiness.... this little girl could solve our energy crisis she's so gassy! All that said, it is great to have her home with us rather than in the hospital. She's been home for 3 weeks, and Marc and I have settled into a lack-of-sleep pattern, where I get a couple hours in the first part of the night and he gets some in the last part. We're both working, although I'm working from home, so it's definitely harder to get basic stuff done.
She's had her pediatrician visits, and while she's still on oxygen, she's great othewise--over 7 1/2 lbs by now, and her due date is this coming Monday (August 15). I am amazed by her, but know that I 'll be even more amazed as she grows and starts showing interest in things other than food.
Now the hard work of finding a part-time nanny (no day care facilities for her for the first year at least), getting into a routine, and keeping up with taking care of ourselves. I have good word that things will get easier by Novemberish (she'll be 5-6 months old).
Writing? A little journaling, but otherwise, no. I will spend more of my alone time looking at deadines to send the ms to, though.
