Crossing the Drake
We're at about 58 degrees S., right in the middle of the Drake. Around
1:00 yesterday, people started disappearing into their rooms, and asking
for some seasickness medication. They're all doing better now, probably
having found their "sea legs." Today we're assisting with science of
opportunity, dropping XCTDs and XBTs to take measurements across a
typical transect of the Drake. Flat Stacy had an opportunity to drop an
XCTD this morning, but the picture won't be available on Flickr until I
get to Palmer Station (I'm trying to keep the emailing of photos to a
minimum).

We'll get to Palmer Wednesday sometime, although I'll have to check to see
if that's still the schedule. I just hope we don't miss "the good part"
while we're sleeping Tuesday night!
