Claire's First Cold
Well, it finally happened. Claire caught her first cold. It was a pretty mild one; just pretty congested in her nose for a few days. We got a nice decongestant from the doctor, and otherwise she's fine. My cold, however, is lingering longer than hers.
The best part is how I really don't feel freaked out by her getting sick. Hyper aware, yes, but not paranoid. I think all of the trauma with her birth and prematurity really has made me put things like colds in perspective.
Having a sick child also makes it easy to blow off the household things on the weekend that I also blow off during the week since I'm working.
Claire gets her first shot of synagis on Monday to keep RSV at bay this flu season. After next April, I'm guessing it won't feel like she was ever a preemie. Maybe then I can write about it.
